Two Weeks Private Morocco Tour To : Casablanca – Rabat – Fez – Marrakech – Chefchaouen – Erg Chebbi Desert – Ouarzazate – Casablanca
This 14-day private tour of Morocco starting from Casablanca provides an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the historical capitals of Rabat, Fez, Meknes, and Marrakech, along with exploring the renowned Blue City of Chefchaouen, the majestic High Atlas Mountains, the captivating Erg Chebbi Desert, and the Moroccan cinema capital, Ouarzazate.
Day 1 : CASABLANCA-RABAT
Upon your arrival, we’ll greet you at the airport, and if time permits, you can visit the Hassan II Mosque. From there, we’ll transfer you to Rabat. Accommodation and dinner in Rabat will be arranged according to your preference. If time allows, you can explore the Rabat medina at your own pace.
DAY 2 : RABAT-KENITRA-CHEFCHAOUEN
Following breakfast, your private Morocco tour takes you on a special visit to the Sale medina with a local university teacher. Explore sites not typically accessible to the public, such as dungeons and towers, while gaining insights into the restoration of a Moroccan medina. Depart Rabat in the early afternoon, arriving in Chefchaouen in the early evening. Drop off your luggage at the riad and venture out to explore the enchanting, fairy-tale-like village and its turquoise-blue alleys. Dinner and accommodation will be provided in a riad within the Medina.
DAY 3: CHEFCHAOUEN
After breakfast, leisurely explore the medina and marvel at the beauty of the blue town in the daylight. Later, your driver will take you to the nearby waterfalls for a walk, either to witness the “bride of God” or to enjoy the stunning waterfalls, with an optional 1-hour and 30-minute walk. Dinner and accommodation will be arranged as on the previous night.
DAY 4: CHEFCHAOUEN – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FES
Following breakfast, bid farewell to Chefchaouen and pause en route to Fes for a visit to either the Roman ruins at Volubilis or the historical sites of Meknes, one of the four imperial cities. The Agdal basin, monumental gates, ancient prison, and royal stables all offer captivating detours. Arrive in Fez in the late afternoon. Accommodation and dinner will be arranged in a riad within the Medina of Fez.
DAY 5: FEZ
A single day is scarcely adequate to explore all the wonders of the world’s largest standing enclosed city, renowned for its leather and metalwork, not to mention the medersas, leather tanneries, 9,500 narrow alleys, one of the oldest universities globally, and the myriad sensations that assault the senses. Fez evokes the image of the quintessential Arab city, reminiscent of Baghdad during the tales of the 1001 nights. Explore the city with a local English-speaking guide who will pick you up at your hotel at 9 AM. Accommodation remains the same as the previous day, dinner is at your discretion, and I am available to recommend excellent dining options.
DAY 6: FES
Utilize the day to catch up on missed attractions from the previous day or embark on a visit to the local artisan quarters with a local designer. Later, explore Art Naji. Accommodation remains consistent with the previous night, and dinner is at your own leisure.
DAY 7: FES – AZROU – MIDELT – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
After breakfast, the journey begins with a stop in Ifrane, known for its alpine chalets and picturesque surroundings that may evoke a sense of Switzerland. Enjoy walks in the forests, inhabited by cheeky Barbary macaques. As we approach Midelt, the landscape transforms with apricot and walnut orchards, offering glimpses of rural Berber life. Traverse the Ziz gorges, revealing the first palm groves, and arrive in Erfoud, signaling the proximity of the desert. In Rissani, explore the Jewish district before reaching Merzouga later in the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation await in a riad facing the dunes.
DAY 8: MERZOUGA – ERG CHEBBI
This day is the pinnacle of your private Morocco tour. Explore the area by searching for fossils, engaging with nomads over tea, trying local ‘pizza,’ participating in Gnawa dances, visiting old mines, and discovering rock engravings or pre-Islamic tombs. Optionally, try quad biking or sand surfing. In the late afternoon, be transported to your desert camp to arrive in time for the sunset. Dinner and accommodation in a luxury tent with ensuite shower and toilets.
DAY 9: MERZOUGA – TINEJDAD – TINERIR – TODRA – SKOURA
Start the day with breakfast at the camp before continuing the journey in a 4×4. In Tinejdad, visit a traditional fortified ksour village and its wells of light. Explore Todra Gorges, just 15 km from Tinghir, offering a mesmerizing spectacle with its crystal-clear river and color-changing walls. Later, reach the Valley of Roses, Dades Gorges, and the Skoura palm grove. Dinner and accommodation await in a lodge at the heart of the palm grove.
Day 10: Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
Commence the day by departing Skoura, traversing through Ouarzazate, and reaching the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Benhaddou. Journey through the picturesque Ounila Valley, adorned with abandoned kasbahs, until reaching the salt mines and the remnants of the pasha’s palace at Telouet. Conquer the High Atlas mountains, crossing the Tizi n Tichka pass at 2165 meters, and descend into Marrakech in the evening. Enjoy dinner and accommodation in a RIAD inside the Medina.
Day 11: Marrakech – City exploration
Explore Marrakech with a local English-speaking guide. Begin with the Bahia Palace and the ruined Badi Palace, followed by the mausoleums adorned with the imposing marble columns of the Saadi dynasty. Experience the richly decorated Douiria, showcasing craftsmanship and architecture from two centuries ago. Spend time in the UNESCO World Heritage site Jemaa El Fna square at night. Accommodation as the previous night, with dinner on your own.
Day 12: Marrakech – Unique culinary discovery
Discover Marrakech differently by exploring the food circuit within the old town. Your guide will navigate through the medina, showcasing the mechoui lamb ovens, preserved vegetables, farnatchi stove, herbs and spices shop, local butcher, and the souika market for bargaining vegetables and grains. Learn about Marrakech’s sites and monuments, then, in a traditional riad, participate in creating your Moroccan meal with the assistance of two dadas. Alternatively, enjoy a glass of wine while others cook, followed by a tasty lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring the Medina, have dinner on your own, and return to the accommodation as per the previous night.
Day 13: Marrakech – Essaouira
At 9 am, your driver will meet you at the riad to leave Marrakech and head to the Atlantic coast. As you approach Essaouira, observe goats in trees. Arrive in Essaouira around midday and spend the afternoon exploring the white-washed medina with its art galleries, cafes, and relaxed atmosphere. Dinner and accommodation in a double room at a Riad inside the Medina.
Day 14: Essaouira – Oualidia – El Jadida
