Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate

Embark on your Merzouga Desert Tour from Marrakech in a 4×4, crossing the High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m). Pause at panoramic viewpoints for photos and visit the Telouet Kasbah, once the residence of the powerful Glaoui tribe. Continue to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah for lunch and an afternoon exploration. Conclude the day in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges

Depart for Todra Gorges, passing the Skoura Oasis with ancient Kasbahs. Journey through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Gorges, where lunch is served. In the afternoon, continue to Todra Gorge for the night.

Day 3: Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, leisurely explore the Tinghir palm grove before heading to Merzouga dunes via the Ziz Valley and Tafilalet Oasis. Stop in Erfoud or Rissani for lunch. Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Agdez

Should you rise early, witness the breathtaking spectacle of the sunrise, where the hues of the dunes and the interplay of shadows create a mesmerizing scene. The camelback journey back to Merzouga takes approximately two hours, allowing for a refreshing shower at a local hotel upon arrival. The Merzouga Desert Tour then continues towards the Draa Valley, passing through the village of Tazzarine (featured in the film ‘Babel’) and N’Qob for lunch. In the afternoon, the route leads to Tanasikht, traversing the ancient caravan path to explore the authentic Draa Valley with its expansive palm trees and historic villages. Day 5: Agdez – Marrakech

Following breakfast, explore the Kasbah itself before heading back to Ouarzazate via the Tizi-n-Tinfifte mountain pass (1660m). In Ouarzazate, visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, originally the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech, symbolizing the feudal era of the Atlas lords. Next, traverse an unpaved track to the Fint Oasis nestled among the mountains, once a crucial crossroads for caravans. The return journey to Marrakech concludes your Merzouga Desert Tour by late afternoon.
