3 Days Desert tour from Fes to Merzouga and Marrakech

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga

We will pick you up from your riad / hotel then drive south to Ifrane and Azrou through the MiddleAtlas mountains. On the way we will stop at the cedar forests to see the Barbarian Apes in theirnatural habitat. Travelling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau and the scenery changing to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. After lunch we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. After getting ready we will start our camel ride throught the dunes to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes which are the highest sand dunes in North Africa. The camel trek takes about 1hr 30 min  to the camp where we will set up Berber tents for our night in the desert. The tents are well equipped with mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner we will gather around the fire and enjoy the sound of traditional Berber drums under the stars.

Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

As you slowly open your eyes, you’re greeted by the tranquil sounds of nature and the sight of a mesmerizing sunrise painting the dunes in warm hues of orange and pink. After a satisfying breakfast, you’ll embark on a thrilling adventure through the Moroccan desert, either on the back of a trusty camel or in a rugged 4×4 vehicle.

As we make our way to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, you’ll be treated to a stunning display of nature’s beauty as we pass through awe-inspiring landscapes. The highlight of the day is witnessing the magnificent Moroccan water canyon that is Todra Gorges, a sight that is sure to leave you in awe.

As the day comes to a close, we’ll head to the breathtaking Dades Valley, where you’ll be surrounded by the towering cliffs and lush vegetation that make this place so special. After a scrumptious dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to spend a night under the stars, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate- Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas mountain – Marrakech

Our day will begin with a delightful breakfast, followed by an amazing journey through the picturesque Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. As we make our way through the Dades Valley, you will have ample opportunities to capture some mesmerizing photos. We will also have the chance to visit the stunning Roses valley and Skoura village before heading towards Ouarzazat, which is often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa”.

Our lunch will be at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, which is known for its grandeur and historical significance. This kasbah is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must-visit destination for anyone who loves history and architecture. After touring this magnificent site, we will continue our journey through the majestic Tizi nTichka pass, which is situated at an altitude of 2260m, over the High Atlas Mountains.

This pass is known for its breathtaking views and picturesque landscapes, which are perfect for capturing some unforgettable memories. We will also visit the argan oil cooperative and learn about the traditional methods of producing argan oil. Finally, we will arrive in Marrakech late afternoon, where you can relax and unwind after an exciting day of exploration and adventure.
