4 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert 

Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades valley

We will begin our journey from your riad/hotel in Marrakesh, and head towards the picturesque Dades Gorges. On our way, we will cross the magnificent Tizi-n-Tishka in the high Atlas Mountains and make a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. This stunning location has been featured in several popular movies, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander .

After a delightful lunch, we will explore the breathtaking natural landscapes and fascinating historical monuments of Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. We will also visit the Valley of the Roses, which is renowned for its annual Festival of Roses. As we move forward, we will pass through the charming Berber villages of El Kelaa des M’Gouna and Boumalene du Dades, where we will spend the night. 

Day 2 : Dades Valley- Merzouga via Todra Gorge

Our journey from Boumalene Dades to Merzouga will take us through some of the most stunning natural landscapes in Morocco. We’ll pass through the charming Berber village of Tinghir and the Todra Gorge, where we’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the breathtaking views and learn about the local culture and traditions. As we continue on our journey, we’ll pass through several other Berber villages, each with their unique charm and character.

When it’s time for lunch, we’ll stop at either Tinjdad or Rissani, where you’ll have the chance to sample the local specialty, Berber Pizza. This mouthwatering dish is made from thin, crispy dough and topped with a variety of fresh ingredients, including vegetables, meat, and spices.

After a delicious lunch, we’ll make our way to Merzouga, where we’ll begin our camel trek. After getting ready for 1-hour camel ride that will take us through the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, which are the highest in North Africa.

Once we arrive at the Berber camp, you’ll be welcomed with open arms by the friendly locals. The camp consists of several comfortable Berber tents equipped with mattresses and linen, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep in the middle of the desert. There’s also a restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious dinner and a kitchen to prepare meals. The camp even has a toilet, so you don’t have to worry about roughing it too much.

As the sun sets, you’ll be treated to a spectacular display of stars in the sky. The evening’s entertainment will include a performance by Berber drummers around the campfire, providing a mesmerizing and unforgettable experience.

Day 3 : Merzouga – Ouarzazate 

You will be waking up before sunrise to embark on a breathtaking adventure. Your journey will take you to the majestic dunes where you will have an opportunity to take some awe-inspiring photographs. More than that , you will be returning to the camp where you can freshen up with a shower and enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing your journey. 

Your next stop will be Ouarzazate, a city that lies in the middle of the desert, famous for its ancient architecture, Kasbahs, and film industry. On your way to Ouarzazate, you will pass through several charming towns, including Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkob, and the Draa Valley. 

Once you reach Ouarzazate, you will check in to a hotel/riad for a comfortable and relaxing stay. You will have a chance to explore the city and its attractions, which include the famous Taourirt Kasbah, the Atlas Film Studios, and the Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4 : Ouarzazate – Marrakech 

Once we finish our breakfast, we will commence our journey towards Marrakech, which will take us through the awe-inspiring High Atlas mountains. During the drive, we will pass by some of the most breathtaking scenery in Morocco, including snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, and traditional Berber villages. After a few hours of driving, we will finally reach Marrakech, where we will drop you off at your riad or hotel.
