12 days tour from Marrakech
Day 1: TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL IN MARRAKECH.
At the agreed time, we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time, you will have the possibility of having a first contact with the city. Accommodation at the hotel in Marrakech.
Day 2 : MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – VALLE DEL DADES.
After breakfast, we will start the desert tour. You will cross the High Atlas mountains, through the highest port of the Tizi Tichka (2,260m altitude), then you will pass through interesting villages until you reach the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987), an enclosure fortified within a walled town that you will surely recognize, since this citadel has been the setting for very famous films.
After the visit of Kasbah, we will pass through Ouarzazate and the impressive palm grove of Skoura until we reach the Dades Valley. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel located in the Dades Gorges.
Day 3 : DADES VALLEY – THE TODRA GORGES – THE MERZOUGA DESERT.
The next day, after breakfast, you will continue the route passing through many Berber villages. You will visit the Gorges of Todra with the possibility of eating there to take advantage and see the impressive place with tranquility. Once the visit is finished, we will go directly to the golden dunes of the Erg Chebbi, where you will start the excursion in a dromedary, making a stop to watch the sunset, until we reach the heart of the desert. Upon arrival, an excellent and refreshing tea and an exquisite Berber dinner will await you, all enlivened with the music of drums . You will enjoy a unique and unforgettable night, thanks to the large number of stars that populate the desert nights. They will sleep in Berber tents.
Day 4 : THE MERZOUGA DESERT – VISIT THE NOMADS.
You are already in the desert enjoying the magic of the dunes …! Today, it is mandatory to get up early to see the sunrise from the top of the dunes and to make the return to the dromedaries to the hostel to have breakfast and shower. After breakfast we will visit Khamlia, the ‘black town’, so named because its inhabitants are descendants of the old slave trade that came from Sudan. They are excellent musicians and have made this art their way of life. With them we will enjoy a small concert of gnawa music. We will return to 4 × 4 to cover one of the tracks used in the Paris-Dakar Rally, visiting the Khol mines and the remains of a French and Berber village. We will make a panoramic stop to contemplate the sandy desert that encompasses the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will visit a nomadic desert town in the process of being sedentary with whom we can have tea and get to know their way of life better. Back to the hotel. Free afternoon. Day 5 : THE MERZOUGA DESERT – CEDROS FOREST – FEZ.
After breakfast we will leave for the Ziz Valley. We will pass through Erfoud, until we reach Midelt, an important town located in the mountains of the Middle Atlas where we will have a delicious lunch. We will cross the Cedar Forest (monkey park) we will make a stop to take photos with the monkeys from there and we will continue the path passing through Ifrane, known as ‘Moroccan Switzerland’ until we reach Fez. Day 6 : VISIT OF THE CITY FEZ.
After breakfast we will start the visit to the oldest of the imperial cities and spiritual center of the country. We will start with a panoramic view from one of the hills that surround the city, and then visit the bronze doors of the Royal Palace, and on foot go into the medina, to visit Medersas (centers of Koranic studies) workshops in the neighborhood of artisans , divided by guilds, and in which the spectacular neighborhood of the tanners stands out. Day 7 : FEZ – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – CHAOUEN.
After breakfast we will start our day on the road visiting the imperial city of Meknes, a city that reached its peak thanks to Sultan Mulay Ismail. Then we will visit its mausoleum and its famous Bab Mansour gate. After the visit of Meknes, we will go to the Roman ruins of the city of Volubilis, where you will discover the oldest and most archaeological Morocco. You can visit its ruins in detail with an ‘optional’ local guide and then continue to our destination, the blue town “Chaouen”.
Day 8 : CHAOUEN – RABAT .
After breakfast, you will have free time to enjoy Chefchaouen with its streets painted in white and blue, a village of wise, friendly and respectful people, offering visitors beautiful urban landscapes, precious samples of local crafts and peace and serenity. At noon we will go to the imperial city of Rabat (the capital since 1912), after 4 hours on the road we will arrive at this modern and at the same time monumental city to visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. accomodation in Rabat
day 9 : CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH.
After breakfast we will start our journey to Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco to visit the Grand Mosque of Casablanca, it is the largest in the world after the Mecca and Medina mosque. This architectural masterpiece was built on water. Its minaret, the highest in the world, stands in front of the Atlantic Ocean offering its silhouette worthy of admiration. It can host 20,000 faithful inside and 80,000 on its esplanade. The only mosque that can be visited by tourists throughout Morocco, it opens its doors to non-Muslims with daily visits. After the visit we will go directly to Marrakech. Accommodation in Marrakech.
Day 10 : MARRAKECH city tour
After breakfast we will have a guided tour of the city Marrakech: Starting with the Koutobia minaret, (S: XIII) sister of the Giralda of Seville, of splendid harmony is currently the lighthouse and spiritual center of Marrakech. Continuation to the Sâadiana Tombs (S: XVI) where its central Carrara marble vault stands out. Later we will visit the Bahia Palace, (S: XVI) example of the aristocratic life of the Muslim Middle Ages, and where its ambassadors room stands out, with its cedar wood ceiling. On foot we headed to the “Plaza de Jemáa el F’naa” Declared: World Heritage Site. Accommodation in Marrakech.
Day 11 : day trip to Essaouira
After breakfast we will go on an excursion to Essaouira, then we will head towards the coast until we reach the «Pearl of the Atlantic». Once in Essaouira you will have free time to admire its fortress, the fishing port, the labyrinthine medina, the endless beach, see the daily life of its inhabitants and, why not, try the delicious freshly caught fish and seafood. All day you will be free until the afternoon to return to Marrakech. Accommodation in Marrakech.
Day 12 : Departure day
As per our agreement, we have scheduled your transfer to the Casablanca airport at the pre-determined time. This marks the end of one of the most comprehensive circuits in Morocco, which has provided you with an opportunity to explore the country’s diverse culture, rich history, and breathtaking natural beauty.
